A Personal Development - Life Skills - Fashion Program for females between the ages of 10 and 21.

Setbacks are Setups for a Comeback!

The 2017 calendar year is winding down  as the holiday season approaches. Did you accomplish some of the goals that you set at the beginning of the year? For some it was a "cake-walk" to make things happen, which is always a good reason to celebrate and pat yourself on the back. Then for others, you may have struggled to get your stride in place, which can be quite frustrating to say the least. Whichever group you fall in, just remember "the race is not given to the swift, but to those who endure to the end".

Enduring to the end means that even though you may be one that accomplished your goals, you still must keep stretching to do more and become all that you were created to be. Goals accomplished does not exempt you from setting bigger goals. If you happen to be one that struggled to make things happen, "no worries" for you are in good company. Struggle does not show a sign of weakness or failure, but in fact, just the opposite.  Sometimes that "struggling phase is a refining phase" to prepare you for bigger and better things ahead. It is quite easy to get distracted when your plans do not go as you intended. Often many will look around and compare their situation to someone else who appears to have it all together. Good News! You don't have to fall victim to the unexpected.....

Winter Trends

Winter is here! This new season is sure to bring in fresh looks that include multi-patterned pieces, popping plaids and detailed accessories for a more confident  style. Being a "female" means you have options to express yourself and often times it is done through your wardrobe.  The day of playing it safe with basic color matching are gone...This winter season, take the time to see what looks good on you. It can be liberating and fun to revive your look with simple wardrobe pieces. Females expressing their own unique style has existed for centuries. Fashion has continued to evolve as more females have become confident in their own skin. Dump the boring colors and same look from last year. Instead, think CONFIDENCE and STYLE. As this season changes, so should YOU by putting your best forward and trying something new!

Because Self-Esteem is the Ultimate in Chic
Today’s tweens and teens -- particularly young women -- face many complex challenges pertaining to body image and self-esteem. And while we often think of the fashion industry as the enemy of female well-being, what if it could be put to positive use instead? Register to be a part of the Building a Better You program.

Our fashion-forward approach to building self-esteem in females not only acknowledges that today’s young women want to look and feel their best, but also proposes that these two things are -- for better or for worse -- inextricably intertwined. So why not help the daughters, nieces, sisters, and other young women in our lives by empowering them to understand how factors like peer pressure and the media influence everything from what they wear to how they perceive themselves -- not to mention how they’re perceived by other people?

It’s unrealistic to try to shield young women from the onslaught of images intimating that how they look is somehow “less than” the models, actresses and other role models they see in fashion magazines. Building a Better You takes a different tack: In actively exposing girls to many different standards of beauty, the program facilitates healthy body image, enhanced self-esteem and, ultimately, self-acceptance.
If you or someone you know is coping with peer pressure, body image issues, or an alternate self-esteem struggle, or have a love for fashion, modeling or a desire for a wardrobe makeover, you don’t have to do it alone. The Building a Better You program’s four development workshops help young girls to young adult women between the ages of 10 and 21 lead more focused, confident, productive and responsible lives -- all through the unexpected yet apt medium of fashion.
